Spring collet or drawbar collet are examples of it. Each performs the best under differing circumstances. It is important to select the right collet in order to achieve optimal results when machining small materials.
And the tailstock is very important too! The purpose of the tailstock is to hold the other end of the material and keep it steady while we work. To prevent the material from slipping or moving on accident, the tailstock has to be kept in good condition. If the tailstock is damaged, it can cause the material to shift, which results in mistakes or even accidents. So, to stay safe and work accurately, we have to check and maintain tailstock regularly. It means we should keep it clean and make sure all the parts are in a good working condition. The second element to discuss is bed ways and carriages. The bed ways are flat surfaces on the bed, where the other parts slide. These surfaces are essential as soon as they assure the smooth movement of a machine. And the carriages are the parts that hold the cutting tools and slide along bed ways. It is very important to keep the bed ways and carriages clean in a good condition. When they are not damaged or dirty, the cutting tools can move smoothly and at the point. If we neglect to take care of them, cutting tools may not move as we want them to.
